FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The essentials about PLM for apparel and PLMflow, in brief.

What is PLM for apparel?

PLM (product lifecycle management) is a system where all of your product information lives: styles, colorways, tech packs, bill of materials, costing, factory orders, samples and quality control. Instead of a dozen Excel files and scattered correspondence — a single source of truth.

How is PLMflow different from an ERP?

PLM is responsible for creating the product (tech packs, samples, costing), while ERP handles inventory, money and sales. They don't replace each other — they complement each other: PLM hands a finished specification and cost into your accounting system.

Does it work if I don't sew myself but sell on marketplaces?

Yes. Even when production is outsourced, you still have styles, tech packs, prices, factory orders and Wildberries and Ozon economics — PLMflow brings all of it together into one connected system.

At what assortment size do you need a PLM?

A good rule of thumb — from 20–30 styles per season, a team of several people working on one product, and recurring errors caused by data getting out of sync. At smaller volumes Excel is usually enough.

Where is the data stored?

You choose the region. PLMflow runs on infrastructure with data residency options, so you can keep data where your compliance requirements need it to be.
